Mackenzie Health Chooses Park Assist’s M4 Parking Guidance System

September 17, 2020

Mackenzie Health Chooses Park Assist’s
M4 Parking Guidance System

CHESHIRE, CT  – Park Assist® has been awarded the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for Mackenzie Health’s new Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, the first smart hospital in Canada, will provide state-of-the-art health care, utilizing smart technology systems and devices, while increasing access to care for the Southwest York Region community and beyond. With a keen focus on technology and innovation, Mackenzie Health will incorporate Park Assist’s advanced-tech, camera-based M4 PGS in its expanding parking facility to enhance its patient’s experience and bring next-generation guidance to the garage.

As Mackenzie Health prepares to open its second hospital site, it has chosen to implement Park Assist’s camera-based M4 smart-sensor system and wayfinding signage to optimize parking in the facility, increase patient and guest satisfaction, and reduce parking search times. This system will also come equipped with Park Assist’s new software platform, INX, helping to increase control of the garage and the Parking Guidance System.

When parkers enter the garage, they will be greeted with digital Wayfinding signage, ensuring they experience the highest level of guidance from the start. Continuously updated with information collected from the M4 sensors, these signs provide highly accurate and detailed data to help parkers make the most informed decisions. Park Assist’s digital signs indicate which levels of the facility have available parking spaces as well as how many spots are available on each level. From there, internal directional signs guide parkers through the facility to the appropriate parking area.

Park Assist’s camera based M4 smart-sensor system then completes the wayfinding loop. The bright, color-coded LED lights in the smart-sensors help parkers navigate the garage by indicating which spaces are available and which are occupied using red and green lights. This not only makes the parking process easier and more efficient for the end-user, but it helps to decrease traffic congestion and reduce the amount of time patients and visitors spend searching for parking.

“Park Assist is pleased to continue bringing an unprecedented patient experience to the Mackenzie healthcare team, alongside our Ontario-based partner, Precise Parklink.” Said Robert Wishart, Regional Account Manager, Northeast.

Working with local partner, Precise Parklink, Park Assist’s installation began in March and is set to go live this fall.

Park Assist Files Patent Infringement Action Against Users of INDECT Parking System

October 04, 2018

Park Assist Files Patent Infringement Action
Against Users of INDECT Parking System

Park Assist LLC, a world leader and innovator in camera-based parking guidance systems (“PGS”), announces that it has filed a patent infringement action against the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority and ACE Parking in the United States District Court – Southern District of California.

Park Assist’s innovative and revolutionary camera-based PGS technology is protected in part by U.S. Patent No. 9,594,956 and other pending patent applications. The suit asserts that San Diego Airport Regional Authority and ACE Parking infringe Park Assist’s ‘956 patent rights through defendants’ use of a camera-based PGS manufactured and sold by INDECT USA and its affiliate INDECT Electronics and Distribution GmbH, of Austria. The suit seeks monetary damages and injunctive relief.

The suit followed Park Assist’s effort to alert the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority to potential patent issues early in the RFP process. In response to an RFP issued by San Diego County Regional Airport Authority in 2016 and procured in 2017, Park Assist advised the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, its contractors and consultants, that the technology and system Park Assist was offering to meet the RFP requirements was then the subject of a pending application that subsequently issued as a patent. Despite having notice of the patent application and later issued patent, the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority undertook construction of a competing PGS system that Park Assist alleges infringes on its patent. As a result, Park Assist filed suit in the Southern District of California to enforce its patent rights.
