Propark America Announces Rebrand To Propark Mobility

The name change reinforces the company’s investment in innovation and the changing mobility landscape.

Hartford, Connecticut – The nation’s largest privately-owned parking company, formerly known as Propark America, has changed its name to Propark Mobility. The rebranding of the company reflects its growing involvement in transportation and mobility solutions.

“Propark has always been an innovator, an industry market leader and a pioneer in forward-thinking technologies. In a rapidly changing mobility world, and in that spirit of innovation, I am so excited to announce that we are changing our name to reflect the evolution in the urban mobility marketplace from Propark America to Propark Mobility,” explained Propark Mobility’s Chief Executive Officer, John Schmid. “This change reflects our forward-thinking shift from parking cars to the new landscape of mobility services, and contemplates the intersection of mobile intelligence and smart garages in the new era of urban mobility within city centers.”

Repositioned as a technology company, Propark Mobility is the compilation of disruptive technology strategies that reflect the patterns of the mobility options that are now available to accelerate ease of movement within urban ecosystems. The new urban garage is now a sustainable “neighborhood-centric nest” for mobility services, including electric vehicle charging stations, mobile phone parking apps, mass transit connectivity hubs, package delivery locker stations, and much more.

“We realize the urban garage in a smart city is a mobility facilitator. We also understand the importance of big data and analytics and have made significant investments into providing more value for our clients,” continued Schmid. “We recognize the mobility landscape is rapidly changing and that real estate asset valuation will be contingent on forward thinking adaptability.”

Propark to Open New Airport and Cruise Parking Operation in Fort Lauderdale

Hartford, Connecticut – Propark America announced today that it is opening its latest near-airport parking location, servicing Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, in Florida.

“As our flagship location in Fort Lauderdale, this new account is going to be a showcase for our Southeastern United States portfolio,” said Propark America’s Regional Vice President, David Horn. “By bringing our signature high-end service model and technology offerings to this asset, we will truly redefine the parking experience for the traveling public.”

With 400 spaces of premium parking, the new location, Discount Parking FLL, is expected to alleviate some of the parking challenges at, and around, the airport, which sees 36 million passengers annually. With only 12,000 on-airport parking spaces and just 4,800 off-airport stalls, this new inventory will help to support the large passenger volume. Discount Parking FLL will also service the nearby Port Everglades Cruise Port, which caters to nearly another 4 million passengers annually. As the fourth busiest cruise port in the world, additional parking capacity is a welcome addition. Cruise patrons will receive the same valet parking convenience that Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport travelers will experience at Discount Parking FLL.

“Whether people are flying out, or setting sail, we will provide them with exceptional service and value that we think resonates with everyone,” continued Horn. “We understand that in these parking environments, people are typically gone for several days at a time, if not a week or more. It’s important to provide these guests with the right balance of affordable rates and top-notch service.”

Discount Parking FLL will provide air travelers and cruise patrons with premium valet parking service, shuttle transportation twenty-four hours per day and guaranteed online reservations on their website. As part of the grand opening, people will be able to go to www.DiscountParkingFLL.com to reserve their parking at only $4.95 per day. Guests will also be able to earn free parking perks through a frequent parker loyalty rewards program, which they will be able to manage online and on a mobile app.

EV Charger Pioneer Taps New Capital,
Plans Major Expansion Into US, Canada

July 19, 2018, Hartford, CTGarage Juice Bar, a pioneering manufacturer and distributor of electric vehicle charging stations, announced today a strategic transaction to support a major expansion of its North American network.

Headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, Juice Bar’s chargers operate in parking lots and garages in 71 cities throughout the United States and Canada.  Oasis Charger Corporation was formed to acquire Juice Bar’s assets and invest in the growth of its award-winning EV charger infrastructure.

Paul Vosper, President and CEO of Oasis, announced the privately-financed deal on Monday.  “We are excited to be working with Juice Bar’s excellent team of professionals.  They have earned a formidable reputation for reliability and outstanding customer service,” he said.

Oasis was formed to meet the demand for EV chargers that has followed explosive growth in the electric vehicle market, Vosper explained.  “The US government forecasts a need for 600,000 EV chargers by 2025,” Vosper said, “but there are barely 50,000 operating in the country today.”

Juice Bar was founded in 2009 by executives of ProPark America, a leading parking management company.   The company teamed up with BMW Group Designworks USA to design a premium EV charger station, focusing on durability and flexibility.  The design permits the substitution of modular components as charging technology evolves.  Juice Bar has created a branded experience for real estate owners, businesses, utilities and municipalities, with installations in offices, hotels, supermarkets, malls and apartment buildings.

As part of the transaction, John Schmid and David Schmid, CEO and Chief Investment Officer of ProPark, will join the Board of Directors of Oasis.

“We are proud of the foundation that our team built,” David Schmid said, “and we are excited to work with the Oasis team in this next chapter for Juice Bar.”

According to Vosper, the company is seeing a steady increase in demand from customers and intends to make its first priority a reduction in installation time.

“We plan to build up our inventory of chargers to cut delivery times to three weeks,” he added.
