INSTALLATION OF INDECT UPSOLUT PARKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM MAKES PARKING A BREEZE AT HOUSTON’S CITY CENTRE

September 30, 2018

INSTALLATION OF INDECT UPSOLUT PARKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM MAKES PARKING A BREEZE AT HOUSTON’S CITY CENTRE

Houston, TX (September 28, 2018)—Parking is easier and more convenient at Midway City Centre in Houston with the installation of INDECT’s premium multi-function, camera-based UPSOLUT sensor. The sensors have been installed in all three of complex’s onsite parking garages, monitoring a total of 6,000 individual spaces. City Centre is an winning, up-scale retail, restaurant, and entertainment hub in the heart of Houston. Designed as an elegant self-contained community, City Centre also boasts a flagship urban fitness facility, two office towers, 655 residential homes, and a 255-room luxury hotel.

“The UPSOLUT parking guidance system perfectly compliments the City Centre experience,” said Dale Fowler, President of INDECT USA. “City Centre is know for offering a refined and elegant experience. With the edition of the UPSOLUT parking guidance system, City Centre has extended that experience to the parking facilities.”

The INDECT parking guidance sensors feature highly visibleLED lightsthat make it easy for drivers to spot vacant spaces from several hundred yards away. Different colors indicate each space’s status, with green indicating a space is available, red meaning occupied, blue for ADA, and flashing purple for reserved & valet. Each space has its own light, allowing drivers to easily recognize which spaces are available even during high-volume times. Additionally, Matrix signshave been installed at the entrance to each parking garage to provide real-time rotating information about LED color definitions, capacity counts, and directions to alternative garages when those facilities are full.

The installation of the INDECT system also permitted City Centre to establish premium paid parking sections on the first level of each garage. These premium sections offer easy and convenient access to restaurants, retailers, and the plaza. Free parking is still provided on all other levels.

“Prior to the installation of this system, Garage 3/Residence Garage was often empty, while the two other garages were routinely at capacity,” said Fowler.  “Because it is tucked away between two smaller side streets, Garage 3 wasn’t an obvious choice for visitors, who often incorrectly assumed it was full. Now that all of the garages are connected on one server, drivers can be easily directed to any available spaceno matter where they are in the City Centre complex. This is especially helpful during weekends, when visitors flock to the complex to enjoy live music performances in the plaza.”

This latest installation is the result of another successful collaboration with Parking Guidance Systems LLC (PGS), the region’s leading parking guidance system distribution and installation team. Locally-based in Richmond Texas, PGS has installed INDECT parking guidance systems in more than 30 garagesacross America and have a depth of product knowledge that is unmatched.

Towson Town Center Ads Parking Technology to the Garage

Towson Town Center is responding to shoppers’ complaints about parking with state-of-the-art technology in multi-deck garages designed to help drivers find and remember spots.

Renovations, completed in time for the holiday shopping season, include color-coded parking decks and signage that displays the number of open spaces in each deck, level and row. A Park Assist M4 smart-sensor camera based parking guidance system alerts customers to available parking spaces through overhead red and green lights. The 1.2 million-square-foot mall, which has 4,400 parking spaces, is the only shopping center in the state with the system, mall officials said last Tuesday.

Customers have identified parking as a major “pain point” of their shopping experience, mall officials said. Under the new system, time spent looking for parking fell 44 percent, the mall said, while the number of drivers searching more than five minutes fell 12 percent.

“We have an entirely redesigned parking system that is significantly more intuitive to navigate, will lessen inconveniences and reduce the amount of time to get in and out of Towson Town Center,” Lisa Bisenius, the mall’s senior general manager, said in the announcement.

The 185-store mall which gets 10 million visitors a year, according to owner General Growth Properties, also remodeled mall entrances, enclosed bridges from parking decks to the center, enhanced lighting and updated signage, adding 1,600 standardized signs, including at all major entrances. More information about the improvements can be found at their website.
