Lauren Burdick joins executive team as Nuvocargo continues ramping up new hires to support rapid growth

In this new role at Nuvocargo, Burdick will leverage her 10+ years experience leading operational teams and projects in the US and in Mexico to manage the company’s employee experience and ensure that it is closely aligned with its vision, mission and values. She will define and execute the strategy behind Nuvocargo’s employee value proposition and compensation philosophy and ensure process excellence in talent acquisition, people operations, and learning and development.

Burdick joins Nuvocargo from the $8.7B LatAm startup Kavak, where she led the Central Mexico region as General Manager and later the company’s Latin America customer service teams. Prior to that, Burdick was with Uber, where she helped scale the Uber Mexico customer service team to 500 and also served as Chief of Staff and Head of Corporate Strategy for Uber Eats LatAm. Burdick was a US-Mexico Fulbright binational business scholar and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Comparative Race Studies from the University of Chicago.

Spatz joined DMP in 2019 as the dealer development manager (DDM) for the company’s Los Angeles region, then moved to serve the Southern California territory. In a very short time, he has proven his outstanding leadership abilities, making this transition a natural one.

The Southern California territory is one of DMP’s 20 sales territories across the U.S. As the DDM for that region, Spatz provided outstanding service to DMP-authorized dealers, helping them grow their businesses while also playing a pivotal role in developing many new successful sales opportunities.

Stockholm, 13 January 2020 – APCOA PARKING Sweden (APCOA), has completed the acquisition of the Swedish parking operator XPERT Parkering AB (XPERT). XPERT manages around 40,000 parking spaces with a geographical focus on the Skåne region in southern Sweden.

Mobile payment app launches on Drexel University’s campus


Philadelphia (Nov. 12, 2018) — Drexel University and Passport announce the launch of the PassportParking® mobile application in select lots across the university’s campus. The mobile application is powered by Passport, the global leader of mobile payments for parking and transit serving transportation operations throughout North America.

The mobile app, which has a growing presence in the Philadelphia area, is also available in the boroughs of Morton, Swarthmore, Phoenixville, Kennett Square and West Chester.

For the first time, students, faculty and visitors at Drexel University will have the option to pay for parking with a mobile application. Signs and decals will be displayed to direct drivers to where the PassportParking app can be used in over 1,500 garage and lot parking spaces.

As Cities Battle Over Curbside Usage, Curbway Brings “Air Traffic Control” To The Curb By Building A Comprehensive Curb Management Platform For Cities





New Orleans, LA– October 16, 2018– Today Curbway announced the development of a comprehensive curb management platform that paves a realistic pathway for cities to control and manage their curbside assets. The platform serves as an intermediary between cities and their parking & enforcement vendors, delivery & shipping providers, TNCs, public transportation resources, and other emerging multi-modal mobility assets.


According to the International Parking Institute’s 2018 Emerging Trends in Parking Survey, the need for new curb management strategies was the top ranked emerging trend for parking and mobility professionals. In fact, the Trends report notes, “it’s all about the curb.”

TagMaster, leading supplier of advanced sensor systems for Smart Cities, has delivered their CitySync ANPR cameras for use in 30 airports in Norway in cooperation with APCOA Parking Norway. Totally 400 ANPR cameras has been deployed in order to facilitate entry and exit of numerous parking facilities at the airports.



The cameras were installed as part of the APCOA CPMS (Car Park Management System) which is using ANPR cameras to identify vehicles entering and exiting the car parking facilities at the airports.

The goal with the project is to digitalize the traffic flow and parking at the airports. There are high demands on system functionality, as many of the airports are located at the coastline of Norway, with rough weather conditions and the North Sea almost hitting the runways. Projects cater for multifaceted solutions, with many different car parks used for several purposes and intricate demands.
