SolTrans launches mobile pay and digital parking permits with Passport
Local bus riders can now pay for parking at Curtola Park & Ride
Vallejo, Calif. (May 6, 2019) — Beginning May 1, Solano County Transit (SolTrans) riders can pay for parking with a mobile phone using Passport Parking. Customers parking at the Curtola Park and Ride have the option to pay for short-term parking with the Passport Parking app or to sign up for a monthly parking permit online, also powered by Passport.
The Passport Parking app is free to download on iOS or Android. Users can create an account with their phone number or email address, add a payment method and easily start a parking session. In addition to paying for parking, users can:
-
Monitor parking sessions electronically
-
Receive notifications for parking sessions ending soon
-
Extend parking sessions remotely
-
View payment history
-
Receive email receipts
For longer-term parking, users can buy and manage their digital parking permits online through Passport’s system. SolTrans riders have the option of a daily or monthly permit, providing flexibility based on the users’ travel plans.
“Our ultimate goal at SolTrans is to provide people with a safe and reliable way to travel throughout our community and a seamless parking operation is a key part of that,” said Patricia Carr, general services manager at SolTrans. “With Passport, we can provide our customers with an easy and flexible solution to pay for parking so they can continue on to the next leg of their journey.”
Passport Parking is replacing previous mobile pay provider, ParkMobile. Passport has more than 600 clients worldwide and powers parking operations for some of the largest transit systems including Long Island Rail Road and Metro North Rail in the New York City area.
“We are happy to provide SolTrans with an upgraded parking management system with Passport Parking and our digital permit portal,” said Sam Warnecke, sales executive at Passport. “Users can purchase a digital permit or pay for parking from their phone, helping to make their daily commute as easy as possible.”
Drivers can download the free Passport Parking app from the App Store, Google Play or manage online at passportparking.com. Users can purchase and manage their permits at soltranspermits.rmcpay.com.
