T2 Systems Releases New Residential Permits Solution

T2 Systems Releases New Residential Permits Solution

The self-service mobility solution enables parking operations offering property-based permits to operate more efficiently and provide better customer service

July 27, 2021 – Parking technology leader T2 Systems has released its Residential Permits solution, a mobile web application and back end platform that enables parking operations to sell and manage property-based permits. This solution empowers customers with self-service functionality while streamlining internal processes for parking and enforcement staff.

With Residential Permits, residents can apply for parking permits online from any device – smartphone, tablet, or computer – while parking staff reviews documentation and evaluates applications in real time. Once approved, residents are notified and can purchase and use their virtual permits immediately, after which they can easily add guest permits and update their information from the same mobile-friendly web application.

“Ensuring your residents and local businesses have parking in their area can be challenging for municipal parking leaders. T2’s new Residential Permits solution extends an already powerful permit and enforcement solution to manage property-based eligibility while making it easy to purchase parking on a mobile phone,” said Scot DeLancey, SVP, Strategy and Product for T2 Systems.

On the back end, Residential Permits provides parking staff all the information they need to easily approve or reject applications, such as applicant documentation, existing permits and applications, and unpaid citations. It also automatically enforces permit districts, eliminating the need to manually verify applicant addresses.

“We’ve been able to process applications in a few hours that normally could have taken a week. We have used paper applications in the past, and eliminating paper has been freeing. I’m looking forward to the renewal process being a breeze next year,” said Debbi Zell, Parking Programs Manager for the City of Aspen, CO.

The customer-facing mobile web application features an easy-to-use, mobile-friendly interface. Users can save progress on applications and complete at a later time, as well as stay logged in to their account just like a regular smartphone app. The platform is also 100 percent white labeled, allowing an organization to add its name, branding, and colors for a customized experience.

Louisiana State University Streamlines Processes with T2’s All-in-One System

Louisiana State University Streamlines Processes with T2’s All-in-One System

Louisiana State University, located in Baton Rouge, is the flagship university of the Pelican State. From championship-winning athletics to award-winning academic programs to cutting-edge research, LSU is known for excellence in many areas. However, LSU Parking & Transportation Services had fallen behind the times, riddled with end-of-life equipment and an in-house-built system that failed to connect everything together.

With a quarter of the gates across LSU’s campus not functioning and an inability to find replacement parts, enforcement officers were spending their time sitting at the gates rather than writing citations, though their end-of-life handhelds would have made that challenging anyway. This made it difficult for LSU to keep the core of its campus secure and led to a significant loss of revenue.

Additionally, LSU’s in-house-built parking management system did not connect the department’s various solutions – permit management, enforcement, PARCS, and meters – leaving the team with manual processes, disconnects, and redundant information.

LSU implemented T2 Flex® software for permit management and enforcement, T2 FlexPort for online permit sales and citation payments, T2’s Mobile Enforcement App, and T2 Logan PARCS, all of which run on a single platform and integrate with one another and third-party systems seamlessly.

Flex serves as the epicenter for LSU’s parking operation, where they can manage and configure permits and monitor enforcement activity and citations. FlexPort makes it possible for the team to sell permits online through a dedicated web portal, which are then fulfilled through T2’s PermitDirect solution. With PermitDirect, T2 partner WW&L takes the orders made through FlexPort and handles the printing and shipping of the credentials.

The Mobile Enforcement App enables LSU’s enforcement officers to easily perform permit lookups and issue citations from a smartphone, all while integrating seamlessly with Flex in real-time. As far as access and revenue control, LSU installed T2 Logan PARCS hardware at 64 access points across several surface lots and two garages. Flex also serves as the back end system to manage these facilities and lanes.

A man in a yellow shirt and a woman in a purple shirt wear face masks and hold parking permits whilst standing in front of a white car. One of the biggest successes for LSU Parking & Transportation has simply been having working equipment, with officers able to conduct enforcement rather than sitting at the broken gates and staff no longer constantly focused on fixing broken equipment.

With all aspects of their operation now in a single system, it’s much easier for the Parking Services team to provide credentials to students, faculty, and staff, while enforcement officers have accurate, real-time information in their hands. And, manual processes like raising gates can be done with the push of a button.

Meanwhile, Flex’s robust reporting capabilities and seamless integrations have made reconciliation much easier for the business office. Previously the systems were not syncing and so everything needed to be double-checked, but now they are able to bill without doing a lot of extra research.

“It is a lot more seamless now than it ever has been before,” Laura Foster, Assistant Director of Financial Operations stated, “so that’s our goal: to keep on creating automated processes that work, to allow us to function with the new requirements that we’re getting – because stuff is always changing – and to also make it seamless and easy for the customer, where they have the confidence on what they need to do when they are coming, regardless if it’s a visitor, student, faculty member, or just a unique situation.”

EasyPark Partners with T2 Systems to Expand Paid Parking on Granville Island

June 18, 2019

EasyPark Partners with T2 Systems to Expand Paid Parking on Granville Island

Indianapolis, IN June 18, 2019– T2 Systems, the largest parking technology provider in North America, has partnered with EasyPark to expand paid parking to all public spaces on Granville Island in Vancouver, British Columbia. The new parking rules, which took effect June 1, 2019, will help to increase parking availability and make it easier for drivers to find a space.

Granville Island—a popular tourism, shopping, and entertainment destination—has over 1,200 parking spots but faces congestion challenges during peak times. Previously, Granville Island had a mix of roughly 60% free parking spaces and 40% paid parking spaces. T2 and EasyPark partnered to install new T2 Luke®Cosmo multi-space pay stations on Granville Island to transition to paid parking for all spaces.

“Our Luke Cosmo parking pay stations are designed specifically for cities and communities and provide a user-friendly experience for customers. Parkers can pay at the meter or through apps like EasyPark and can even extend their parking through their phone instead of having to move their car,” said CEO, T2, Adam Blake.

The new parking rules aim to encourage drivers to shift the timing of their trips and eliminate circling the island in search of a free spot. Parking will now cost $3 per hour from 11 AM- 6PM from May to September. From October to April, the parking rate will decrease to $2 per hour.

“Many municipalities find that transitioning from free to paid parking improves parking availability, reduces confusion, and generates more revenue. We’re excited to help Granville Island improve their parking experience,” added Blake.

“EasyPark has partnered with T2 over the years to be the leader in delivering innovative and reliable technology solutions for parking and transportation that helps our customers deliver world-class service,” said CEO, EasyPark, Nigel Bullers.

T2 has built a comprehensive platform of parking technology software and hardware solutions to make parking management as seamless as possible. Thousands of parking and transportation professionals rely on T2 for multi-space pay stations, permit management, enforcement, LPR, PARCS, citation services, business analytics, and event parking.

Indianapolis, IN December 13, 2018– T2 Systems, the largest parking technology provider in North America, today introduced T2 Loganä, its next generation of PARCS hardware. It is designed specifically for all gated parking solutions in vertical markets such as universities, municipalities, healthcare, property management, and airports.

T2 Logan is the latest product release from the company, who offers a unified, robust platform to manage every aspect of a parking operation. T2 consolidated its Series II hardware and ParkingSoft Gen 2 software to create the new T2 Logan solution.
