T2 Systems Releases T2 Velocity Frictionless Parking Solution

T2 Systems Releases T2 Velocity Frictionless Parking Solution

The all-in-one access and revenue control solution is designed to help operators increase compliance, improve enforcement efficiency, automate the citation lifecycle, and make data-driven decisions.

Parking technology leader T2 Systems has released T2 Velocity, a frictionless parking access and revenue control solution that combines LPR, transient payments, permits, enforcement, and collections into a single, integrated, gateless system.

Velocity helps smaller municipalities and private operators manage access and revenue control in a more efficient and cost-effective way. The seamless, automated solution has minimal capital investment and maintenance costs, while also delivering a low- to zero-touch experience for the parker.

“Simply put, we want parkers to have an enjoyable experience while increasing efficiency for operations by enabling them to gain insights and manage enforcement without having to have the right staff, in the right place, at the right time,” said Zack Harmeyer, Head of Product for T2 Systems.

Velocity uses fixed license plate recognition (LPR) cameras at the entry of a parking facility to record the license plate number and time of entry for all vehicles that enter. Customers are then directed to purchase time at a pay station or using their mobile device before leaving the facility. As vehicles exit, another set of LPR cameras captures the license plate number and time. If a customer did not pay for parking or exceeded their purchased time, a ticket is automatically generated and sent to the registered owner.

Velocity also offers the option to enforce in real time with handheld devices and paper tickets for operators with mandates or a preference to print and place notices on vehicle windshields.

“Velocity has greatly reduced wait times at entrance and exit, which has been the prevailing complaint from our customers. It has also reduced our maintenance costs. And the auto-enforcement of violations has created a new revenue stream, which offsets the cost of the entire system,” said Nathan Matz, Executive Director of the Reading Parking Authority.

On the back end, Velocity provides a wealth of real-time data to operators, including occupancy, dwell time/duration of stay, parking transaction type, and more. This data can be used to optimize pricing based on demand, maximizing revenue. Additionally, comprehensive reporting capabilities help drive insights and create business value.

Verra Mobility to Acquire T2 Systems, a Leading Provider of Parking Management Solutions, from Thoma Bravo

Acquisition expands Verra Mobility’s portfolio of smart mobility technologies that make transportation safer and easier

MESA, Ariz., Nov. 2, 2021  — Verra Mobility (NASDAQ: VRRM), a leading provider of smart mobility technology solutions, announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire privately held T2 Systems from leading software investment firm Thoma Bravo for $347 million on a cash-free and debt-free basis, plus an additional up to $9 million related to an impending asset acquisition by a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of T2 Systems. T2 Systems is a leading provider of parking solutions in North America, with nearly $80 million in revenue and approximately $21 million in adjusted EBITDA expected in 2021.

Verra Mobility will fund the all-cash transaction with a combination of current cash balances and accordion features in existing debt. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the fourth quarter.

T2 Systems provides an integrated suite of parking software and hardware solutions to universities, municipalities, parking operators, healthcare facilities and transportation hubs. Verra Mobility plans to operate T2 Systems as a distinct business unit.

“This acquisition complements our portfolio of urban mobility technology and allows us to continue growing revenue while diversifying our customer base. At just under 3.7x leverage at the end of Q3, this allows us to put our significant cash flow back to work for investors,” said David Roberts, president and CEO, Verra Mobility. “With the rapid growth of ride-sharing and last-mile delivery, cities need innovative solutions to solve traffic issues and optimize curbside management. Verra Mobility’s photo enforcement solutions coupled with T2 Systems’ parking technology will put us in a strong position to help cities adapt to these emerging complexities.”

“The combination of our unified parking and mobility management platform and Verra Mobility’s expertise in intelligent transportation systems will help deliver a streamlined transportation experience,” said Adam Blake, CEO, T2 Systems. “We are grateful to the Thoma Bravo team and excited to join the Verra Mobility team as we continue to innovate and improve the customer experience.”

“We are proud of what we accomplished in partnership with Adam Blake and the entire T2 team over the past five years. Today the company has a broader product offering, improved operations, and a stronger base of customers,” said A.J. Rohde, a Senior Partner at Thoma Bravo.

“With T2 Systems’ leading technology platform and the support of their new strategic partner, Verra Mobility, we look forward to watching T2 during its next chapter of growth as the leading provider of parking technology solutions,” added Matt LoSardo, vice president at Thoma Bravo.

During Thoma Bravo’s ownership, T2 Systems significantly grew its recurring software revenue, closed two add-on acquisitions, signed an additional asset acquisition, and introduced several new products.

T2 Systems serves more than 1,900 customers with a wide range of parking management solutions that includes curbside management, mobile payments, contactless transactions, and transportation demand management. The company offers a centralized, open platform covering the entire parking and mobility ecosystem. T2 Mobile Enforcement App Now Integrates with Genetec ALPR System

T2 Mobile Enforcement App Now Integrates with Genetec ALPR System

February 11, 2021 – T2 Systems’ Mobile Enforcement App (MEA), a citation issuance app available for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, now integrates with security solution leader Genetec’s AutoVu automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) system, providing parking operations with a mobile LPR-based enforcement solution.

This integration allows an enforcement vehicle equipped with Genetec AutoVu to communicate directly with the MEA, enabling enforcement staff to view and enforce LPR detected violations in the MEA in real time. All data is stored in T2 Flex®, and the two solutions work together to streamline data and make issuing citations as easy as the press of a button.

Benefits of this integration include improved enforcement efficiency, the ability to see claimed detected violations, improved safety for enforcement officers. Additionally, this combined solution helps keep traffic moving, as officers can park their LPR vehicle and return to any cars in violation to enforce, rather than stopping for each violation.

If you are a current T2 customer, reach out to your Account Manager for more information on this integration. To contact a T2 Systems representative about the Mobile Enforcement App or any other T2 solutions, contact us here.
