TimHaahs Celebrates Opening of Auburn University Parking Facility

TimHaahs recently completed the development of a new 750-space parking facility for Auburn University in Auburn, AL. TimHaahs served as the parking consultant and engineer of record for the garage which will serve the University, as well as the Auburn Hotel and Conference Center. The garage will also support the growing parking needs of special events on campus, especially game days at Jordan-Hare Stadium, home of the Auburn Tigers.

TimHaahs collaborated with Cooper Carry Architects for this project.  Cooper Carry won the assignment to design a new building for the Culinary Arts program at Auburn University.  The project included an underground parking deck, which proved to be cost prohibitive. As a result, the team conducted master planning services design this new stand-alone garage on College Street.

The parking deck is comprised of precast concrete construction and includes parking technology for accommodating pay-on-foot and pay-by-space, using one’s mobile phone. The three-bay, side by side helix functional design is easy to sue and provides an excellent level of service for hotel patrons, Auburn personnel, visitors and students. The parking deck was delivered using a design-bid-build approach and took less than 12 months to build.

TimHaahs’ MGM Springfield Casino Resort Garage Celebrates Grand Opening

On August 24, Timothy Haahs & Associates, Inc. (TimHaahs) celebrated the grand opening of the new MGM Springfield Casino Resort parking facility in Springfield, MA.

The new must-see attraction celebrated its official opening with a procession down the resort’s Main Street. MGM features a wide-range of activities including numerous shopping destinations, restaurants, a full-service spa, a bowling alley, arcade, movie theater, and Topgolf Swing Suite. TimHaahs designed the resort’s new 3400-space parking facility. The garage complements the design of the casino, and provides a safe, convenient, and attractive first impression to visitors of the resort.

The garage valet pick-up & drop-off area is comprised of seven lanes, all finished in a red brick stamped concrete pattern. The columns, shearwalls, valet office, and walls adjacent to the casino entrance are also covered with an exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS) to further articulate the area to create a sense of place within the garage footprint.

To emphasize this placemaking effort, a suspended ceiling extends across the valet area lanes and acts as the red-carpet welcome mat to the casino entrance. Articulated with random length planks of aluminum with a faux wood finish and “Edison style” exposed filament LED bulbs, the space sets the stage for the dramatic casino interior.

TimHaahs Project Manager Noli Alarcon stated “Looking around, you can see the sense of accomplishment on the faces of everyone who put their effort and hard work into this project. Seeing the finished product is amazing, as you get to look back and see where you started and how far you’ve come.”

The TimHaahs team is honored to have been part of a greater effort to revitalize the historic downtown area.
