Chicago Ridge launches Passport app for daily Metra Riders

Chicago Ridge, IL- The Village of Chicago Ridge today announced the launch of a new app that will make parking easier at its daily commuter parking lots.

Chicago Ridge has introduced Passport, the leading parking payment app provider in North America, at its commuter daily parking locations. Passport’s app makes paying for Metra parking more convenient by allowing users to pay for and manage parking from their phones.

With Passport, users can quickly pay for daily parking, monitor their session, and view all parking history.

“With smartphones playing such a big part in our daily lives, we wanted to offer a mobile option that would help make the process of paying for parking more convenient. With Passport, Metra riders can not only pay for parking but also manage everything from their phones.”

Chicago Ridge is offering a universal validation code during the app’s launch. Users can enter the validation code 60415 into the app to receive one free daily rate of parking. This promotion includes the $1.50 daily parking rate as well as the $0.37 cent convenience fee for using the app.

Passport signage throughout the daily commuter locations will give instructions for downloading and using the app, including the daily commuter location’s zone number, 60415.

Passport was selected to provide this mobile parking payment solution for Chicago Ridge after successful launches in over 45 Chicago suburbs, including Evanston, Oak Lawn, Skokie, and Oak Park. Passport also developed ParkChicago, Chicago’s parking application.

The PassportParking app is free to download from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at ppprk.com.

Mobile app lets drivers pay for parking at off-street Metra lots

New Lenox, IL- The Village of New Lenox is announcing an innovative new way for drivers to pay for parking. Drivers can now use Passport, a mobile pay app that allows users to pay for parking from their phones. This new mobile option will be available at the New Lenox Metra Lot and the New Lenox Laraway Road Metra Lot. This launch partners the Village of New Lenox with Charlotte, NC-based Passport and Downers Grove, IL-based Total Parking Solutions.

Passport is the leading mobile payments provider for parking and transportation, and has launched in large cities like Boston, Chicago, and Toronto. Passport has also launched mobile solutions in over 15 Chicago suburbs, including Evanston, Oak Lawn, Skokie, and Oak Park.

With Passport, there’s no need to carry around cash for the cash box or meter — everything can be managed from your phone. After making a payment, users can monitor their parking with the countdown timer in the app and even extend their session remotely if needed (up to the maximum allotted time).

NHS says yes to ANPR solution from TPS and METRIC

St Mary’s Community Health Campus is the first NHS site to benefit from a customer-centric ANPR system from Total Parking Solutions (TPS) using METRIC’s Elite LS parking terminal. The NHS site delivers dermatology, dietetics, maternity and rehabilitation services, and with the new parking solution allows their patients a stress-free parking experience by allowing them to pay on return rather than trying to estimate how long they will be at their appointments.

The system is simple and user friendly, when a car park user enters the area the system takes an image of the vehicle captured by ANPR cameras, allowing the customer barrier-free entry to the car park. Following their visit, the user enters their vehicle registration at the Elite LS parking terminal and is presented with images on a large HD colour screen that match the details entered, they then select and confirm their vehicle and pay for the amount of time they have stayed. The terminals are equipped for both coin and chip & pin card payments.

The system was implemented to replace an old Pay & Display system which was no longer fit for the client’s needs and the needs of their customers.
