Traffex and Parkex 2017 Driving the Industry in the Right Direction
Following a highly successful three days at the NEC Birmingham, show organisers, Brintex Events, can confirm visitor numbers for this year’s joint Traffex and Parkex exhibitions were up. Between 4th and 6th April, both exhibitions saw plenty of packed stands and received lots of positive feedback from both visitors and exhibitors. Parkex proved to be particularly busy attracting 3,101 attendees taking the total attendance of the combined exhibitions to 11,516 across the three days.
James Munger, Head of Marketing at Dynniq, comments: “The quality of visitors has continuously improved throughout the years, there has been a good focus on quality and data with enhanced attendance to presentations and on stand demos. We have found new technology partners, had good quality leads and fast tracked relationships. Traffex is a good event because it brings in local authorities.”
With over 350 exhibitors, the co-located exhibition revealed the very latest products and innovations from the world of traffic management, intelligent transport systems (ITS), road safety, highway maintenance and parking.
Raymond Wilson, exhibitor and Account Manager at Edesix ltd., comments: “We have exhibited at Parkex for the past four years. This year, we have had some great face-to-face contact with existing clients, and we have seen a steady foot fall.”
One of the key features of this year’s event was the varied and engaging seminar programme which addressed a host of topics from approaches to road safety, to the future of parking. A highlight at the Traffex Theatre came from Jim O’Sullivan, Chief Executive of Highways England, who set out some of its newest priorities, and what to expect in the industry post-Brexit. On the success of the exhibition, Jim remarks: “There’s a huge amount of innovation on display at this year’s exhibition showing that we, as an industry, are finally embracing the information and technology age.”
Adrian Tatum, Conference Director at Traffex and Parkex 2017, comments: “This year’s exhibition delivered an innovative insight into the very best technology, products and services the industry has to offer. Exhibitors included some of the most forward-thinking technology companies in the world and provided a platform for them to discuss more efficient ways of working.”
This year’s exhibition increased visitor numbers by 1.1%. It also introduced the Innovation Trail, which showcased forward-thinking technologies and offered visitors the opportunity to interact with products and services at the forefront of the evolution of the UK’s roads. The trail, which ran throughout both Traffex and Parkex, created a realistic environment that represented the future of the highways and parking industries.
Neil Deavall-Locke, a visitor to Traffex from DW Studios, comments: “This is the first time I have visited Traffex and I have been very impressed with the calibre of exhibitors. I have been introduced to the right people and now look forward to seeing what innovation comes out of the exhibition.”
Jeremy Landey, Account Director at NSL and visitor to Parkex 2017, remarks: “It has been an interesting year with a number of new players introducing themselves into the marketplace. The exhibition has been a great place to meet existing clients as well as network with new contacts and see what new products and services are available to the industry.”
The next combined Traffex and Parkex event will be held at Hall 5, NEC, Birmingham, from 2nd to 4th April, 2019. The next Parkex exhibition will be held on the 13 – 14 June 2018 at the Ricoh Areana, Coventry. For more information, please visit www.traffex.com or www.parkex.co.uk
