In this new capacity, Shirley will be responsible for managing the overall operations, driving the team and resources toward strategic goals, and directing the company’s overall growth.

“Shirley joined the company in 2011 and quickly rose to several management positions. During that time, Shirley has been credited with a variety of important accomplishments, including NPA 40 under 40 and the award for Innovation in Parking and Programs from the Canadian Parking Association.

In 2023 Shirley became a “Paul Harris fellow,” being awarded the highest award in the RotaryInternational world, with a Paul Harris Award given by the Rotary Club of Vancouver Fraserview for her work in the Community, raising funds and sponsoring Rotary fundraising.

Under Shirley’s leadership, ZipBy has contributed to the communities in which they conduct business, sponsoring various community initiatives: the airshow, Vancouver’s Bard on the Beach, Children’s theatre, and most recently, devised and implemented a customer give-back promotion that hasseen donations to the Greater Vancouver Foodbank of over $13,000. Shirley received an Electronics Engineering Degree from Los Andes University in Colombia and an MBA and MEM from theUniversity of Technology in Sydney, Australia.

VANCOUVER, BC CANADA: ZipBy, the popular parking app, announced today the launch of its multi-lingual support feature. In collaboration with EasyPark Canada, the new feature will allow all users to use the app with ease and convenience.

The largest city in British Columbia, Vancouver has a culturally diverse community. It also has the largest Chinese community in Canada. ZipBy now supports these communities. Vancouver is the third largest Chinatown in North America, behind New York and San Francisco and the app will be promoted there and to the wider community.

Pompano Beach, FL – ZipBy, a global leader in ticketless technology today announced the launch of parking permits feature at Joyce Parking surface lot at 58 Pearl St, Buffalo, New York.

 

Drivers can now apply for and purchase a casual or permanent parking permit right inside the ZipBy app. It’s fast and simple to get the JP/ZipBy hangtag and register the plate to park. No invoices needed, no login needed, 100% control by the parker under autopay.  

 

ZipBy’s development team worked with Joyce Parking for 6 months to integrate this permits feature into the app and backend portal and feedback from parking operator and customers has been applied to this new feature.

 

ZipBy Permits are suitable for permanent staff and groups of tenants.  Permits can also be used for onsite contractors. Permit settings include duration, rate, grace period, terms and conditions as well as having the ability to attach images and files to the application process.

 

William Torres, director of parking for Joyce Parking says ‘ZipBy have been great in meeting our needs with permits functionality. Having the ability to create, send and approve monthly, casual and contractor permits makes our staff’s job so much easier. Pompano Beach, FL, April 13, 2023:  ZipBy and EasyPark have collaborated to launch automatic payment and gate entry parking at Lot 19 @ 900 West Cordova St, Vancouver BC, Canada. ZipBy’s technology enables drivers to enter the parking lot through the app and exit automatically without the need to touch their cellphone or wind down the window. If there is a parking fee it is charged to their credit card, and a receipt is emailed to them, eliminating the need to wait in line at the pay station.

ZipBy, a global leader in parking technology, today announced that in partnership with EasyPark, they are donating $3,687.00 to the Vancouver Food Bank, which was raised by a community give-back program to donate $1 from every parking transaction made through the ZipBy mobile app to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

The promotion ran through the holiday period from December 15th through February 2nd,.   The promotion was the brainchild of Shirley Rodriguez, President of ZipBy.  “The promotion was done in conjunction with the launching of the ZipBy app in Vancouver with EasyPark.  Whenever we launch into a market, we look for ways to support the community, we simply asked EasyPark who needed the support the most in Vancouver, and they quickly said the Vancouver Food Bank.”  Said Shirley.   “We are happy with the launch and the success of the fundraising and appreciate the people in Vancouver who supported this initiative, we will likely do another program later this year.”   

Ravinder Bains, Director, Client Services at EasyPark said “we were really excited about the launch and the giveback promotion; it was one of the reasons that we selected ZipBy as a partner in mobile payments because of their long history of care for the communities that they conduct business in. We also are excited about future developments with ZipBy, coming to this spring we will pilot a project where the Driver of a car can simply drive into a gated lot; gates will magically open and a parking session will start by simply having the ZipBy app, so truly frictionless parking.”

The ZipBy app is accepted at all EasyPark parking lots, and in addition, many of the EasyPark lots are also offering customers a 10% discount when using the ZipBy app. While discounts are not available at all lots, the app can be used at lots around the city, including all Vancouver Park Board lots and CMHC Granville Island. During this promotional period, ZipBy and EasyPark donated $1 from every ZipBy mobile app transaction to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

The partnership between ZipBy and EasyPark is another step towards both companies’ commitment to our community and sustainability goals. This initiative supports the City of Vancouver’s Transportation 2040 strategic vision for our city and further supports the City of Vancouver’s Climate Emergency Action Plan.

Having experience in a broad spectrum of parking technology such as Pay Stations, Mobile Payment, PARCS, Permits, Enforcement and LPR, John has partnered with multiple technology partners and developed strategic relationships across the industry with Municipalities, Universities, Healthcare, Operators, Property Management along with various levels of government to promote and implement new parking technology solutions to ensure clients realize their operational objectives.

John brings a proven track record of leading successful sales teams and an in-depth knowledge of the sales process. His experience, leadership attributes, strong relationships and parking industry knowledge make him a great addition to the ZipBy leadership team.
